An after school film school, delivered in your school. Your pupils write, shoot, edit and star in their own films on professional cameras, drones and edit suites, then premiere them to parents at the end of term. We bring the kit, the crew and the curriculum. You bring the room.

Mini Filmmakers Club
A hands on first step into filmmaking. Pupils learn how to hold and frame a camera, record clean sound and act for the lens, then make one class movie together and watch it on the big screen at Movie Night. Lots of doing, very little sitting still.

9to16
Senior Filmmakers
The full course, run the way a real crew works. It moves faster, expects more and asks pupils to take ownership of their film from first script to final cut.
Camera. Pupils move onto cinema cameras and learn to control them properly: manual exposure, shutter speed and frame rates, white balance, focus pulling, lens choice and depth of field, plus gimbal and drone operation.
Theory. Alongside the practical work they study the craft of filmmaking: story structure, shot types and coverage, the 180 degree rule, lighting for mood, sound design and the language of the edit.
How it works
One hour a week, after school, for a full term. Programmes run by seasonal term, and each term is a complete course that ends with a premiere where pupils present their films to parents.

Every member of the Young Filmmakers Academy team is DBS checked and background checked before they step into a classroom, and we work alongside your school's own safeguarding policy throughout the term.
